Fucking unreal. I want to cry.
"You bet it's going to cost money. But I'm confident we can handle it and I'm confident we can handle our other priorities. It's going to cost whatever it costs."
*
"The key question is to make sure that the costs are wisely spent."
*
"It means we're going to have to make sure we cut unnecessary spending. It's going to mean that we maintain economic growth and we should not raise taxes."
--George W. Bush
Because if there's one thing we can all depend on, it's that the federal fucking government will spend money wisely OR fucking responsibly. Goodbye, Social Security. Goodbye Medicare. Goodbye WIC. Goodbye NEA. More deep cuts to military benefits and educational spending. Goodbye every single aspect of this government that does not benefit big business interests or George Bush and his ilk. Every single program the Republican party has had its eye on since FDR put them into place. But gee, Vladimir Putin thinks deep cuts are a good idea. He couldn't possibly have ulterior reason for supporting them, *could* he?
Wow. I feel better already.
