It has come to my attention that it is time once again for a resurgence of the wonder that is International Cavorting Day. But Katie, I hear you ask, what is International Cavorting Day? That, my friends, is when one takes a day - a day like any other, a day which would normally be set aside for work and pressure and the stresses of living - and thrusts all that aside to use the day as God and the Poets intended: for cavorting. For unbridled joy and passion and the excitement of living. Or, you know, just for curling up with a really good book, sinfully rich cookies, and a glass of icy cold milk, secure in the knowledge that one really should be doing something else, but damn it, taking the time to do whatever the hell one really wants to do. I have an idea that while reading is not really strictly speaking what one first thinks of when one considers cavorting, that there are people in the world to whom a really good uninterrupted read is just as good as a solid cavort, and therefore reading should fall into the category of cavorting, just the more quiet side, that's all. Who said cavorting had to be noisy and riotous, anyway? At any rate, the whole point is to take a day just for you, to shuck cares and responsibilities, and just have fun and renew your soul. It's good for you. It oughtta be a law. God and Marn willing, one day it will be. So go on. Get out there. Cavort. :)

Wow; that makes me realize I have been keeping this here little web diary for a whole year, yesterday. I can't believe my one year anniversary sailed right by me in total stealth. I think I will start the Anniversary Log Tradition. Shut up, it is *too* a tradition. I just started it. So there. Also, I'm laughing a little; what are the odds that exactly one year apart I'd be talking about elections and how they went? Odd.

I Get Googles
Hey, whomever is at PPPa49-City-2R7104.dialinx.net and Googled "Photon t-shirt" PLEASE identify yourself in email; I must know why you Googled that.

"Katie Doyle boyfriend Road Rules" may very well be my favorite Nosy Katie Doyle Google of all time. If I ever write a book about me, that's what I'm going to name it.

Today's # of Nosy Katie Doyle Googlers: 29 - down from the average of 35 for the last few weeks; what is UP with that?? (the volume at all, not that it's lower today).

# of naked Katie Doyle googlers: 2 - there's always somebody...

I just went to Googlism.com to see if a search for Katie Doyle would turn up anything about me, and it didn't, but katiedoyle did: katiedoyle is back from paris.

Cool. :)

Anyway...
I want to design my own template, but Fireworks has decided to take a header on my laptop and needs to be reinstalled, and I am beyond lazy and can't seem to motivate myself to do so. So I guess that new, improved Katie lipstick template will have to wait. I'm sure you guys hope long enough for me to get over the desire for a lipstick theme...

::sigh:: St. Katie struck again this year and failed to file my taxes, so that means Monday - or Tuesday, if I know my saints, and I think I do - will be tax day here at Rancho Doyle. I could motivate myself to do them on Sunday, except that I always end up calling my mom the tax specialist many, many times during the tax preparation experience, and I think she'll probably be out most of Sunday, so clearly one need not waste a perfectly slothful day applying one's self to one's taxes. Nay, my friends, I think not. Ergo, Monday - or Tuesday - is soon enough.

By the by, Katie fans, there's a perfectly hilarious story of procrastination raging across Suburban Island today, so if ya get the chance, drop on by and read up on what happens when one forgets to pay the water bill. :)

Man, do I live a boring life; that is the sum of all I have to say today. I miss school, actually. It's rather disappointing not to be achieving scholastically this semester. School is one place where I pretty much know my way around for sure, although I am still the geeky girl many people mock. And yet, the same people calling me Poinsie and rolling their eyes when I ask questions don't mind ponying up to me when test time comes around. What's up with that? I feel a little like Rory the first day at Yale when that mean girl mocked her in the student ID line...except, you know, I'm not at Yale, and I'm not a 17 year old girl genius or anything, and I don't go to class super early, just fairly so. But I can understand Rory's excitement, because learning is fun, what with all the trivia and new stuff to find out, and facts are facts and fairly irrefutable, which is very comforting in today's unstable political and social climate. I mean, I live in a state where the guy who was just elected to governor got fewer than 4 million votes, which is less than 1/3 the population of the metropolitan area I live in, much less the entire state, and the six most heavily populated counties in the state voted on antiquated punchcard machines which probably haven't even been counted yet, but they've already named governor an actor born in a foreign country, who at one time delighted in doing Hitler impressions and is rumoured heavily to have admired the Nazis, is underfire for having been sexually aggressive to no less than half a dozen women, and who met secretly in a Beverly Hills hotel on more than one occasion with Kenneth Lay and other power company CEO's at a time when the governor of this state will make or break the deal to get back the 9 BILLION dollars stolen from the state and consumers during the so-called power shortage of the last few years. I'll get into that later, maybe, but I don't really want to do it now, because I've got Lola under control for the moment. I'm thinking of buying stock in Twinkies, because damn, do they do a good job of drugging her down. My point is merely that school is very soothing and I miss it.

Hey! I just discovered my hair is finally long enough to pull back into a ponytail! Do you know what this means?!?! It means I can finally wear the really cute ponytail holder thingies I bought in a moment of unbridled optimism over 2 years ago, when I decided to grow my hair out again. They're totally cute, too, little brightly colored bands of elastic with irridescent hearts floating around on them. I'm glad I did not cave to hopeless frustration and toss them out, like I did other cute hair accessories sometime last year. Next stop, scrunchies; I have never worn a scrunchy. By the time someone came up with that wondrous invention, I had short hair. Now scrunchies are within reach; someday soon, I will be able to wear my very first one. Woohoo! I am once again Katie of the cute, girl-next-door perky ponytail hair!

I hardly know how to react.

Peace out,
Katie

Don't even think it, punk.

"If you're so bored, why don't you read?"
"What, you mean like a book?"
"That is the traditionally accepted format, yes."
