Can I just say, that when it's 20 degrees outside, as it was in the part of the Valley that I live in last night, and you have no heater, your house tends to get mighty cold? Because it does, peeps. I'm just sayin'. I will probably be pretty scarce 'round these parts - or any other 'puter-related parts - until it warms up to a nice toasty 70 degrees or so inside my house, because frankly, the only places I want to be right now are in bed under my layers of toasty covers or sitting in "The Big Bathroom," so-called because it is the bigger of the two bathrooms, and one we rarely use, other than for the brushing of teeth and storage (and never for baths or showers), where I can turn on my space heater, lay a towel across the crack under the door, and roast happily away whilst I sit in the armchair I have cozily tucked away in the alcove that used to be a very long closet running the length of the room and read a book. Or 2. Because it's warm in there, yo, and if I have to be up and about, that's where I want to be. My computer is sitting right at Arctic Ground Zero, and frankly, I start to lose all feeling in my fingers after many clicks of the mouse. So, all that being said, my weekend went by rather too quickly, which is sad, and I'm distressed to hear that even colder weather and still more freaking wind lies just around the corner (otherwise known as Tuesday or Wednesday), so what with the lack of a gadget to blow warm air through the house, I plan on not sitting at my desk. If I can, I'll blog from work, but work is keeping me pretty busy, so I don't there'll be much of that going on. Take care and stay warm, yo. Peace out, ps. despite how cold it is now, it has been rather freakishly warm off and on, much warmer and drier than usual for this time of year. we've had several 80-something degree days, the last of which was just Thursday, so I really dread the heat that must be building, even as we speak, to unleash itself upon a mostly unsuspecting populace this summer. last summer, there were several days here that reached WELL into the triple-digits (119 - 122), and personally, I think that's going to be way more the norm than not this summer, and I think we're going to hit the more intense heat of summer much sooner than usual, like by mid to late June or early July. It's going to really freaking suck not to have a/c. I foresee many, many days spent reading in McDonald's. But, you know, there's no global warming. Not at all. copyright 2002
