Katie Doyle, Girl About Town

Oh, my God, you guys, things have done a huge turn! Instead of visiting France for 2 weeks, I will now be bumming around Europe for 32 entire days! :) See, what happened was I discovered it is the 100th anniversary of the Tour this year AND it's ending in Paris on the 27th. I thought to myself, gee, it seems silly and a shame to miss that by a measley 3 days, so I think I'll see if I can change my flight out and just stay in a hotel the last couple of days. Turns out to keep my fare, I have to stay until August 12, so being the impulsive geek that I am, I went "okay." So now I will be hoofing it around Europe for another 18 days or so, checkin' out the interesting stuff and trying to find cheap yet safe accommodations...plut�t idiot, n'est pas? Mais oui, I think it is. But what the hell - you only live once, and I have spent my entire life - or at least that part of it between now and the age of 17 - envying those people brave enough to do this sort of thing. So now I can say I did it, and by golly, I'm going to! :) Do any of you, my gentle readers, live over there and wanna meet for coffee? :) Wow; I am breathless and nervous and scared as hell, but also *really* excited. :) Also, I have a 4 hour layover in Toronto going and another for a couple of hours coming back, so if anyone in that neck of the woods wants to chat on July 10, give me a holler. :) I must have a creepy internet stalker or two, myself, up there in the Great White North...Joey. :)
