So, like, the Eiffel Tower is kinda hard to photograph in a way that isn't boring. I mean, it's a tower. It's a tall, skinny spire in the middle of a park, which, frankly, aside from being the *Eiffel Tower* really isn't all that interesting. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's the Eiffel Tower. When you first lay eyes on the thing rounding the corner from the Bir-Hakeim Metro stop, it stops you dead in your tracks and makes you go, "Oh, Wow." But taking pictures of it...you have to be a more experienced photographer than I to get really cool ones. :( Also, to get a mostly unobstructed view of it, there are only a few positions you can take. I still have one side of it to try, which is opposite the Trocadero, to the east. I took this one from the southwest, before the nice men with guns came and made me move. Ditto this. Even from as far away as I was, it was hard to fit the whole thing in. I was probably about a football field or so away. Maybe 500 feet. It's hard to tell, because it was so big, even being that far away. It's really very graceful, but the base is frigging huge. The pylons in the picture are the west (L) and south (R) piles. After the nice men with guns made me move, I shot this from the northwest side, which is pretty much immediately bordered by the Seine and Quai Branly. This is from across the Seine. This is shooting east from the Trocadero, the tower reflected in the water feature there, which is sadly all chopped up, so you can't get a nice long reflective view of the tower. This is also from the Trocadero. I wish the moon had been larger in this picture. I added lens flare to make it more impressive. Cheesy, huh? :) Feeling particularly old and chunky today. Got nothin' else. Peace out, copyright 2002
