Dude; my new office is the *bomb*. I sit under a skylight, so I get to feel like I'm outside, even if I'm not, and the skylight is semi-transparent, so I can see the clouds pass by if I feel like looking up. Plus, I run cold, so when the sun is shining on me, it's nice and warm. There's a runner who comes by at 11 or so and asks you what you one from the restaurant du jour and goes and gets your lunch for you, so you don't have to leave the place if you don't want, and can actually spend your entire lunch period actually *having lunch*. There are all kinds of free sodas, and the snack foods are actually semi-nutritious, rather than just a bunch of sugar and chips. There's a gourmet coffee stand on the back patio - yes, we have a patio for dining - and it sells real hot chocolate. My bosses do not care when I actually show up, so long as it's like before noon, and I get all my work done. Ditto on when I leave. Quote: "We are not clock watchers here; come in when you like, go home when you're done, stay late when we need you." Everyone smiles. The ladies' room has been painted pink, and has fun butterfly and flower cork message boards, other little cork boards in the shape of the word "princess" and hung from ribbons, huge flower arrangements, giant bowls of potpourri, cute flowered liquid soap dispensers, and candy dishes. The only drawback is that it's huge and a maze, so until about 5pm this evening, every time I left my office, I got lost. By 5pm, however, I had all the movie posters memorized, so I now know to get back to my office from the downstairs post production suite, I go up the eastern stairs (I don't know how to get their from the west or north ones yet), through the doorway veering right, left at the Underworld movie poster, right at the Scorpion King, straight at the next two (for movies I've never heard of, both starting with T, that I can't remember right now), veer right and through the doorway just past Lost in Translation and Erin Brockavich, thru the litte anteroom, and veer right at Gods & Generals and through the door on the right, just past and across from Troy. Which is my suite of offices. Whew! I think if I come up the north stairs, you replace Underworld with Lord of the Rings, but I'm not entirely certain...I got lost a lot. Have I mentioned everyone is nice? :) And now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go eat dinner. :) Peace out, copyright 2002
