Katie Doyle, Girl About Town

This is my myspace page. If you have a myspace page, give me a shout. All my geekiness is in full glory there on myspace. Also, a lot of memes. My blog is here, but I post images there, at least from a project I'm working on called "We Do It Everyday." (sic)

Things I really like about my job:
Money, money, monaaaay - MO-Nay! It pays better than most, a fact for which I am immensely grateful.
The executive producer seems really cool and like he doesn't thrive on being an asshole, which you would be surprised how often is not the case. (not wanting to be an asshole, I mean)

I don't have to be there until 9:30am and can leave by 6:30.
Snacks
It's actually not an annoying show and is, in fact, oftentimes amusing. I actually laugh. Out loud.
The tapes are nice and short, and the work is fairly easy.

Things I really, really don't like about my job:
The loudmouth ass tool who sits behind me and pontificates about many, many things and whines incessantly every day that his iTunes aren't working. He also talks pretty much non-stop every single day from 5pm until he finally leaves, so from 5:00 on, I may as well just surf the web and IM people.
No one talks to me.
I have already opened my mouth when I should have just been quiet, a feat I never cease to manage to complete, no matter how much I promise myself that this will be the job when I just. Shut. UP.
The noise level is sometimes prohibitive, especially on Fridays.
Reality tv.
I have very little verbal contact with people outside of "good morning," "have a good night," and whatever I say to Jonny-C.
I feel like crying in my car on the way home every day.

I really have nothing else. I get home around 8pm every night, and then I just want to veg in front of the tv. Unfortunately, I have a lot of stuff to do, so I can't. But as far as jobs go, it's not a bad one at all. As I said, the work isn't taxing, and the money is good. I just feel a little invisible on the one hand and disliked on the other, and that only really from 2 of the people there, both of whom pretty much seem to have decided they hated me at hello. I probably wouldn't hate the ass tool at all if he hadn't been pretty much a dick from about 5 seconds after he said, "Hi, I'm Dougie" to me. But he seems to have formed some sort of negative opinion of me right in the middle of my reply of, "I'm Katie; nice to meet you," so we have animosity, and at this point, I may just have to kill him sometime before next Friday. So if you don't hear from me after that, that's probably what happened. Check with Jonny-C to see.

I have to go, now. I have to do laundry and then brush my teeth and start heading to bed, so that I might actually make it there by 12.
