I suppose I am not a Democrat so much as one who hates, despises, abhors, detests, and just generally finds it impossible to tolerate the Republican party. Which is pretty much why I was a Republican in my youth, if you interchange those two terms. Only I find the current Pub party far more reprehensible and repugnant than I ever found the Democrats, back in the day. Back then, I just thought Dems were a bunch of bleeding hearts, who needed badly to acknowledge we could not single-handedly solve the world's ills, and that you can't feed everyone. Now, I think you should at least try. Pubs seem to feel you should not only NOT try, but you should rob the poor blind and plunder as much of their natural resources as you can while not helping. I really, really HATE the Republican party today. And that makes it harder to stomach Russ Feingold's stunning fall in the Senate yesterday, when Frist called for a censure vote and not a single Democrat in the room had the guts to do what half of American wants, stand up with Feingold, and say yes, the president should have his wrist smacked. I have never seen a bigger, more ineffectual bunch of PUSSIES in my entire life. It made me realize I'm not a Democrat. I have never been a Democrat. I'm just an anti-Republican, and the only reason any 'Rat has ever gotten my vote is because I really hated the Pubbie he/she was running against. Actually, that's not quite true. I believed in John Kerry, and I voted for him because I thought he'd have made a great president. Now I guess I have to acknowledge he may not be the man I thought he was, seeing as he didn't stand up with Feingold. Neither did Edwards. And Clinton sure as hell couldn't be bothered, so none of them can expect my vote in the primaries. Feingold can, though. I never really thought all that much of him, good or bad. I didn't know much about him. But he had the balls to call for censure and then to stand there by himself when Frist called him out, and a man who can do that can have my vote for President any day. But I realize, looking back over my voting record, that I have never so much voted for most candidates as voted against the person they were opposing. What the hell does that say about the state of America? Because, I'm thinking not much. The Democratic party is 100% incapable of getting its shit together, apparently. They have had 5 years now to figure out some sort of cohesive policy, build a party platform, and establish themselves as a viable alternative. They have failed on every level. They make ME sick, and I'm a core party member. If *I* don't want to vote for you, how the hell can you expect a Republican or swing voter to??? You offer NOTHING. The Republicans don't have to do a thing to make you look bad; you do that all on your own by never supplying an idea, never making a suggestion, never standing up to them, never doing anything that matters. You are utterly failing to represent my interests, and frankly, you've gone beyond pissing me off. Get your fucking shit together, for the love of god. Figure out what the hell it is you stand for, and then MAKE A FUCKING STAND. On your own two fucking feet. Because if you don't, I get mine chopped out from underneath me, and I can't afford that shit. I am stuck with you assholes as my representation, until someone else comes along. And when that someone else does, you can bet I am voting for him/her, no matter who they are. They can't possibly fuck it up any worse. Respectfully, copyright 2002
