Katie Doyle, Girl About Town

My sleep schedule is utterly blown, which is why I am up writing an entry at 4:06am on a Friday. :(

I didn't get the tv job I actually wanted. I'm not surprised. When it comes to job interviews and offers, Murphy's Law is steadily in effect in my life. I can't decide if that's God's way of trying to get me off my ass to apply myself toward something I *will* like, or if I was someone akin to Hitler in a former life, and this is all just penance. I'm leaning toward penance.

The Buffy Season 8, Episode 1 comic is out, and while it's nowhere near the same as an hour of Buffy on television, it doesn't suck. You can mostly hear the character voices coming through, though frankly, I'm not sure Buffy lends itself as well to the graphic medium as one might understandably think. Still, it's nice to find out what Joss would have done had he had another season to run with, and there are definitely things to like about it. So far, anyway. And it must be decent, because I was like, "what??? I have to wait another week to find out what happens?!" I'm actually lucky. Normally, I'd have another 3 weeks to wait, but it took me a while to track down a store that actually had one in stock. It's also the first comic book I've purchased since like, 5th grade, when that Richie Rich kid was all the rage.

Yes, I read Richie Rich. Which part about me being a geek escaped you? I also read Sgt. Rock (on accounta my brother being a HUGE WWII geek), Sgt. Fury & His Howling Commandoes (also on accounta said brother, who also read Fighting Army and Fighting Marines, but those titles were deadly dull, so I only read them when I was beyond bored), and my favorite, Teen Titans. This was back in the day when Teen Titans were cool, not the lameass animated incarnation most people now know. And also, Archie. Yes, that Archie. Andrews - the one that hung out with Jughead, Veronica, Betty, and that weasel Reggie. I grew up in small towns. Teen Titans were cutting edge. I'm lucky I could get anything that had a fantastic bent to it.

The new Altoid dark chocolate-dipped mints are insanely delicious. They don't even taste like Altoids, they're so good. None of that bitterness 'toids usually have, and insanely, scrumpdillyiciously addicting.

I need a haircut. I have mom hair. I find this upsetting.

I think I'm tired and can actually sleep, now. 'Course, I still have to brush my teeth, and that usually wakes me right back up again. Were I a more intelligent human being, I'd have brushed my teeth, THEN come and written this. I am not a more intelligent human being, so I did not. Oh well.
