Thursday, May. 15, 2003 - 12:00 a.m.

Today, my friends, I learned a valuable lesson:

Do not put artichokes in the garbage disposal.

And the sublesson to that is that Liquidplumr does not dissolve artichoke fiber.

So, really, you should avoid the whole artichoke vs. disposal thing; it just isn't pretty.

I am taking a beading class tomorrow night, of all things. Wire wrapping. Oo. Ah. Am I just the biggest geek, or what? Also, I feel rather off this evening, so I'm sorry if this is like the most boring entry ever. I seem to be in a rut these days. I feel like I'm failing miserably at the whole fun to read, interesting person deal... And I'm bummed there's just one more week of Buffy.

The Dream is Always the Same
You know that nightmare where you get to class and there's a test, only you didn't know about it, and you're naked, so everyone is laughing, but you have to take the test anyway, and there's not enough time, and you fail it miserably, and everyone knows, so they mock you because you're the geekiest kid in class and they want to make sure you know it?

Yeah.

Except for the naked part and the bit about everyone mocking. Big honkin' test, and I did not realize it. So I walked in the door and got hit with the big ol' figurative frying pan of a major test. And only a few people mocked. But it still sucked. I blew my A, which might not sound like a huge deal, but I have KILLED myself this last year to get an A in every single class so I could graduate with distinction, and I blew it on my Last. Freaking. Class. ::sigh::

Bon Voyage, Katie
So, I got my tickets for France. Coz, you know, when I make up my mind to do something, by golly, I get out there and do it. Plus, the ticket guy is a friend of The Boyfriend's father, and TB took it upon himself to call the guy and tell him I was going. So, I have reservations on Air Canada, $350 - Round Trip. Which is a totally bitchin' price, so I will have money to spend when I get there, which is always cool. I am much happier now that I did the math, because for a while there, from the message I initially got, I thought I was going to be dealing with air travel for 36 hours and then getting into Paris at 8am, and that, my friends, bites it. But I have now figured out that the whole thing including my first day in Paris is only 36 hours or so, I guess I can manage to stay up for that long...I've done it before - remember the Landscape Design Project From Hell? Noo...apparently not, because I just looked back, and apparently, I did not write about it. (I wonder why?)(Oh yeah; I was *sleeping*...) The penultimate project due for Design class, I was up for at least 41 hours (which is when I quit keeping track), and that was nowhere near as fun as a trip to Paris, so I guess I can stand to stay up a measly 36. Pff. 36 hours? I laugh at you, you humans, you sleep-dependent weenies. Sleep? I think NOT. Not when there are croissants to eat and Parisians to sneer at.

I am kidding. I do not eat croissants.

(*kidding*)

Actually, I have heard the French now call American cheese Idiot cheese. Good for them, but I'm not at all certain I want to advertise my Americaness while I'm there. I'm sure most French people are quite nice, but the Parisians are fabled for their nastiness, so I admit to a tiny urge to speak English with a Scottish accent the entire time I'm there...except that that would probably be immature and ridiculous, so I'm sure I won't. Much.

(again, kidding)

Ask Katie
Dear Katie -

If I give you a dollar, will you tackle Lance Armstrong for me?

Will

Yeah....no. But thanks for asking. And if you still wanna send that dollar, please, feel free. I have a trip to Paris to finance.

Peace out,
Katie

Don't even think it, punk.

I do have a test today...It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point?
I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they're
socialists? They could be fasict anarchists. It still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car.
