So, I found out why the MIC (Men in Camis) didn't want me taking pictures in the pretty, pretty field on the southwest side of the Eiffel Tower. There's an underground radio center located near the south pylon, which is the pylon to the right in the first two pictures I posted. I guess the entrance must be somewhere near there, though I would think it was pretty obvious I was focussed on the gigantically tall honkin' piece of iron stretching up into the sky directly in front of me, and not some 97-year-old, not-exactly-top-secret radio center, but whatever. Mystery solved. Doesn't it just figure? I have no trouble at all writing Pete text until I start working on a Pete book, and then suddenly all his photo captions are hard to write. I would so love if I could get a Pete book published. It would be awesome for a generation of youngsters to love Pete. Like seriously, the coolest thing ever. :) I can't tell you how happy it would make me. :) I'm going to the taping of a french variety show with MP tomorrow. It's a combination of interviews, comedy, and live musical performances...all in french, so most of the time I'll be sitting there clueless. I'll let you know how it goes. :) last two days, i didn't really go out. worked on photos and tried to write pete stuff. i think i'm having, in the words of one of my good friends yesterday, a midlife crisis. which is just so freaking clicheed, it makes me crazy, not to mention i'm not even freaking middle-aged yet, and i sure as hell don't *feel* middle-aged. let's just say i'm not aging gracefully, and let it go at that. except i do want to know, why are the bad things we tell ourselves so much easier to believe than the good? I just realized I wrote that entire paragraph in lowercase. Wonder what that's about? OH! I almost forgot *again* - I have been *horribly* remiss, and I need to rectify thanks right now. I very much want to express my appreciation to Onlymayday, Reader1209, Masodella, Sunflowersx3, and Prinseslelie for taking my photography survey. Especially for taking the time to talk about why they like certain aspects. Their time and effort are greatly appreciated and very helpful. As well, I want to thank Reader1209 for providing invaluable insight and support with the entire concept of Pete's book. She went way above and beyond to help me workout some things, and I am truly grateful. Peace out, ps. if you get the chance to see a 6 minute computer-animated short called "Ritterschlag," I definitely recommend it. Very amusing. :) copyright 2002
