Dayam, the thunder, she eez a booming. It's cool. For those of you who do not live in the San Fernando Valley, let me clarify. It never thunders here. Like, ever. So it's kind of a big deal that it's not only rumbling out there, it's cracking, roaring and generally just going to town. I'm talking shredding, people. Enough to actually make me a little nervous, coz I grew up in tornado alley, and generally the kind of storm that brings noise like that also brings big twisty things that pick up your house while you're in it and set it down not gently, so that you wind up crawling out of a tiny opening and sliding down a section of wall to drop 4 feet down into space in pitch black and try to see where you are going when the lightning flashes, because in between, the wind is literally sucking the light away so that you can not even see the hand in front of your face. And no, I'm not kidding, and yes, that actually happened, in 5th grade. So while I realize a tornado is a rarity here in sunny CA, I still get a little edgy when the sky is rending itself. But I digress. Let's get on with the reason you're here, shall we? Yes, that's right, my friends, I am talking the FRIDAY FINDS finds finds finds... This is not the loveliest picture to come across, especially if the one before it was a cute, fluffy little kitten. It's also not for the squeamish or faint of heart, so if creepy, crawly, slimy, or otherworldly things freak you out, don't go there. It's an interesting picture, but um, ugh. I meant to post this earlier, but what with the whiggins and all, I forgot. Johnny Carson's last monologue, courtesy the NY Times. This is just totally nifty. :) For anyone who wants their own webring without having to go thru a webring hosting service - yes, geek, I'm talkin' to you - here's a script-based ring for free. You just have to give a link back to the original source page - this one. He's a nice guy, too. I'm in the middle of adapting this for something else, and he's been helpful and let me customize the heck out of it. So don't be put off by it's unflourished appearance. He'll let you change how it looks if you ask. Dude. I'm such a dork. (shut up) Sadly, it's pretty much only for weddings, but this is the countdown ticker page I was looking for the other day, before I stuck that lame chocolate bunny counter that doesn't seem to be working at the bottom of the page. I can't believe this was sitting in my favorites the whole time. Narf! And that's it for me. Have a good weekend. :) Turns out I get next week off. I was supposed to start the New Wonder Job on Monday at 10, but that has now been postponed until the next week. Which is fine with me, because the car is looooooong overdue for an oil change, and now that I know I can afford it, I need a haircut. I thought I was gonna have to go to the cheapy haircutting place ::shudder::, but now I can go get a real cut. Yay! Peace out, copyright 2002
