My Friday is off to a rollicking bad start. It headed downhill on Thursday night, right around 9:45 or so and just pretty much gathered steam and speed from there. In fact, I just ate for the first time in 48 hours, if that gives you any idea of just how much fun I'm having right now. So let's just post the Friday Finds, shall we? I have to start off with this fascinating version of Jim Brightman's 80s pop hit for Bonnie Tyler, as performed by Norwegian rock(?) group Hurra Torpedo somewhere around 1995. You can also find it here, if that site is bogged down. I have a feeling it will be, because the thing is like a train wreck. First I was all hmm...kitchen appliances as percussion...okay...wow, that guy is actually pretty good at "drumming" with a freezer; what a workout. Then I was like wow, what is with that other guy's pants? Holy crap, that's a lot of butt crack; is he ever going to pull those things up, or will he lose them completely? Then I realized the "drummer's" pants were also that low. In fact, the only guy managing to keep his butt covered is the singer. Also I was wondering how long red was gonna hold up whatever that is he ends up clobbering his stove with. Enjoy. Googlefight is worth a good 15 minutes of time suckage, at least. :) I pitted (among other things) the Beatles against the Rolling Stones and was appalled to find there are more sites on the web dedicated to the Mick and the boys than the Fab 4. That's just so wrong! Along those same lines, and sorry if I posted this before, find out how you stack up against famous people in the height department at Tall or Not. I actually like this site mainly because it helps put in perspective the actual height of some celebs. I already knew I tower over Lucy Liu and that Geena Davis dwarfs me, but there were some surprises in there. Gabrielle Reese, for instance, is hecka tall. Dayam, that woman is a red wood. I spent AGES trying to find this graceful, looping font, and Angie McKaig was nice enough to point me to its home on the web; thanks, Angie! My new favorite poliblog, This Is Not Over usually makes its case without beating anyone over the head...as in, much more calmly and dispassionately than I do...and a lot more succinctly, as well. Sigh. I can only *wish* I were that good. Well, that, and I can take notes. Lots and lots of notes. Have a good weekend, peeps. I am trying to figure out where to move. Back to Texas, or just out of LA. It's a really difficult decision and position, so your prayers are appreciated. Peace out, copyright 2002
