::sigh:: I spent a goodly portion of my day today listening to, among other things, a raging debate over whether or not dusk and twilight are the same thing, and if not, when, exactly, in the day they are, and just how dawn fits in with the whole deal, being, as it is, at the beginning of the day, not at the end. Yes, my friends, it was just that stupid. There were 2 other nearly equally as stupid arguments this day, but that is the one that sticks with me, because really, who the fuck cares, and it was the last one of the day, because at that point I gave in to frustration and said look, for the purposes of delineation in our work, if it's light, it's day, and if it's dark, it's night, because those are the only two acceptable terms to log, anyway; which merely fueled the debate somehow, with someone suggesting they look it up on the internet, and me finally snapping and rather bitchily saying no, how 'bout you look it up on the internet when you get home and we all WORK now, since we have a mountain of tapes, and that's what the hell we are being paid for. That met with some bitterness, and frankly, I find I don't care. It's very hard to type out what people are saying on a videotape when you can't hear it very well anyway and then your coworkers are arguing whether or not Deputy Dawg could take Scooby Doo in a fight. That's not exactly what one of the major topics of debate was today, but it's close. That, and the one coworker who refused to watch when the rest of us did to be able to identify the castmembers, spent much of the day asking "Who is this?" "Who is this?" "They all look the same; who is this?" And arguing with you when you identified the person in question, which I will now no longer do, because it's fairly irritating, as is listening to him argue with others. And anyway, anybody knows Scooby Doo would totally run circles around Deputy Dawg. But tomorrow is another day, and I get the yummy, yummy egg salad on squaw bread that I love from Dr. Deli, so as God is my witness, I will never go hungry again...or, not at least for the rest of the week. Because at last I am working again. And work is good. Because the work brings the money. And the money happily pays the bills and buys the food. Ain't life grand? :) Peace out, copyright 2002
